A JSON Schema draft 2020-12 fragment describing an accepted state value. Configure your validator to use draft 2020-12; the fragment does not include $schema.

For example, a slider may report { type: "number" }, a range slider an array schema, and a chart brush a nested array schema. A menu whose values depend on its data may report a union such as { anyOf: [{ type: "string" }, { type: "number" }] }.

A date is a string with format: "date-time" or format: "date". Reads give a date-time; writes may use either, and a date alone means UTC midnight.

Use the returned schema to validate input, including constraints such as allowed values and array length. A component's type or id alone does not describe all its constraints.
